The St. Charles Police Department’s two-week traffic safety campaign that ended Jan. 1, 2013, resulted in three drunken driving arrests and the issuance of five citations for safety belts, five citations for uninsured motorists, 11 citations for speeding, and one citation for another violation.

In addition to the state citations, officers also issued 17 warnings for various violations.

This safety campaign was done in cooperation with, and funded by, the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of a statewide program to reduce the number of traffic fatalities.
