Christmas 2012 Gifts: What Do You Hope to Get?

Yes, already — even before Black Friday. We know the Christmas shopping tends to get done earlier every year in St. Charles and everywhere else. So, here's your chance to tell your friends and family what Christmas gift you want in 2012.

Head downtown, to the West Side or to the East Side or any other stores and you'll see that it's already beginning to look a lot like Christmas 2012 in and around St. Charles.

All kinds of gift ideas are out there.

For totally local, you can head downtown to the Main Street Corridor, the city’s central business corridor along Main Street and the surrounding area; Century Corners, at 1st and Cedar avenues; Charleston Center, 311 N. 2nd St.; Charlestowne Mall, 3800 E. Main St.; Eastgate Commons on the southwest corner of East Main and Kautz Road; the 1st Street development downtown; Fox Island Square at 1 W. Illinois St.; Foxfield Commons, 2736 E. Main St.; Main Street Commons, at the southeast corner of East Main and Kirk Road; Old St. Charles Place at along 2nd and 3rd streets between Cedar and Main streets; River North, at 303 N. 2nd St. at Route 31, among many more.

Maybe the big-box stores are your thing?

Walmart already has announced it is offering layaway again this year, with the iPad and HP Ultrabook-based laptops on the list of eligible purchases.

The store has changed the policy on its open fee, which is kept if you ultimately can't pay for the item or refunded as a Walmart gift card when the item is fully paid off. That fee — or credit — has been increased from $5 to $15.

Walmart or off the wall, what kind of gift do you want? Tell us in the comments below — and then point your friends and family to Patch!
