The Charlestowne Mall is expected to close at 6 p.m. today as a mounting blizzard begins to take hold of the St. Charles area.

Mall security confirmed that officials will determine whether to reopen on Wednesday based on snow accumulation. According to an email sent by Classic Cinemas, the theater will not show movies that have scheduled start times after 8 p.m.

St. Charles Patch will update information on the status of local businesses as it becomes available.

In Geneva, the Commons was set to close at 4 p.m. today and will remain closed through Wednesday.

Editor's Note: A store in Charlestowne Mall, Carson Pirie Scott, will close early today, according to company officials. However, as of 4:50 p.m. today, they had not decided whether they will open Wednesday.
