St. Charles Police Blotter: DUIs, Property Defacement, Theft

SUNDAY, FEB. 17, 2013

Criminal Defacement of Property

Sportsplex, 1400 Foundry St., reported at 3:11 a.m. someone had spray-painted graffiti on a retaining wall behind the building.

Driving Under the Influence

Peter M. Olson, 37, of the 700 block of Lincoln Ave., Geneva, was charged at 2:20 a.m. at South 3rd Street and Moody Street with driving under the influence of alcohol, and improper lane use. He was released after posting his driver’s license and $300 cash pending an April 4, 2013 court appearance.

Disorderly Conduct-Public Drunkenness

Ryan J. Griffin, 23, of the 200 block of South 17th Street, was cited at 12:24 a.m. with disorderly conduct-public drunkenness at The Beehive Tavern & Grille, 204 W. Main St., which called police to report a highly intoxicated subject who would not leave and was bothering other patrons.

Public Fighting

Dustin A. Chapin, 27, of the 300 block of Surrey Lane, Bloomingdale, was cited at 12:20 a.m. at 200 Cedar St., with public fighting. According to police, Chapin struck a bouncer at Alley 64, 212 W. Main St., who was ejecting him from the premises.

SATURDAY, FEB. 16, 2013

Battery

Joseph F. Binkley Jr., 27, of the 3S200 block of Blackthorne Lane, was charged at 11:55 p.m. at Alley 64, 212 W. Main St., with battery, after a report of a disturbance. According to police, Binkley was kicked out of the bar for bumping into people and shoving a bouncer, but then re-entered the bar through another door, where he struck another bouncer in the face. He was released on his own recognizance pending a March 21, 2013 court appearance.

DUI

Lloyd Edgar Parks, 53, of the 43W700 block of Clover Court, was charged at 3:01 p.m. with DUI. He was released after posting his driver’s license and $300 cash bond pending a March 28, 2013 court appearance.

Hit and Run

Nicole M. Pstrong, 33, of the 200 block of Cedar Avenue, was charged at 2:07 p.m. at the St. Charles Police Department, 211 N. Riverside Ave., with leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to yield. Pstrong was cited after a pickup truck was struck at North 3rd and Cedar avenues. She posted $150 cash bond and a $50 booking fee and was released pending a March 7, 2013 court appearance.

Disorderly Conduct

Glenn A. Franklin, 50, of the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue, Big Rock, was charged at 11:45 a.m. at Thompson Auto Supply, 6 N. 9th St., with disorderly conduct after police received a report of a man smearing feces on a building in the 800 block of West Main Street. Police said there has been an ongoing dispute between workers at the store and nearby property owners about dog feces in the parkway. The property owner who reported the incident said he had a security camera installed as a result of the dispute, and video showed Franklin using a hockey stick to flick dog feces into his yard, and that some struck his building.

DUI

Sharyn Rose Foley, 26, of the 18500 block of Center Avenue, Homewood, was charged at 1:32 a.m. at North 6th and West Main streets, with DUI, DUI with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, disobeying a stop sign, and improper lane use. Police said her blood-alcohol content registered .235, nearly three times the legal limit. She posted her driver’s license and $300 cash bond and was released pending a March 21, 2013 court appearance.

Retail Theft

Adrian Escalante, 20, of the 30W000 block of May Street, West Chicago, was cited in the 37W700 block of Route 38 with retail theft. Further information was not available.

FRIDAY, FEB. 15, 2013

DUI

Richard Scott Kinsey, 55, of the 7N100 block of Dunham Road, Wayne, was charged at 9 p.m. on the 2500 block of Route 25 with DUI, DUI with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, and driving too fast for conditions. He posted his driver’s license and $300 cash bond and was released pending a March 21, 2013 court appearance. Further details were not available.

Criminal Property Defacement

The city of St. Charles, 2 E. Main St., reported at 2:01 a.m. someone has spray-painted graffiti on two walls of the East Side parking deck, 200 Walnut Ave. No damage amount was reported.

THURSDAY, FEB. 14, 2013

Public Urination/Defecation

Jeremy Adam Almodovar, 20, of the 1600 block of Riverside Ave., was cited at 3:17 a.m. at 307 W. Main St., with public urination/defecation, possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis and underage drinking.

Burglary

Hilton Gardens Inn, 4070 E. Main St., reported at 9:09 a.m. that between Jan. 7 and Feb. 8, someone entered a secured storage room and stole three 37-inch Philips LCD televisions. No value for the televisions was reported.

Theft, Less than $500

A 19-year-old reported at 7:24 p.m. the theft of 16 articles of clothing from a basket next to his bed at Lazarus House, 214 Walnut St. No value for the items was reported.



WEDNESDAY, FEB. 13, 2013

Disorderly Conduct-Public Drunkenness

Douglas W. Komes, 54, of the 200 block of Indiana Street, was cited at 6:33 p.m. with disorderly conduct-public drunkenness after police responded to disturbance reports at both the Alibi Bar & Grill, 12 N. 3rd St., and Pub 222, 222 W. Main St.

Residential Burglary

A 91-year-old resident of Brighton Gardens, 600 Dunham Road, reported at 12:30 p.m. the theft of a Tiffany gold pin, seven gold bracelets, a braided rope gold necklace and a choker-style gold necklace with three diamonds from her apartment. The combined value of the stolen jewelry was estimated at $14,000.

Warrant Arrest

Alan Sanchez, 27, of the 1100 block of South 11th Avenue, was arrested at 7:05 a.m. on a failure to appear warrant on a charge of driving on a suspended license. He also was cited with a new count of driving on a suspended license and no insurance. He posted $350 cash bond and was released pending a March 21, 2013 court appearance.

TUESDAY, FEB. 12, 2013

Criminal Property Damage

A 37-year-old resident of the 400 block of South 19th Street, reported at 2:44 p.m. that someone scratched his 2004 Ford F250 while it was parked overnight in front of his residence.

Hit and Run

Ramon Navarro-Contreras, 34, of the 900 block of Spring Avenue, was charged at 4:46 a.m. at 1300 Madison Ave., with leaving the scene of an accident, improper lane use, no valid driver’s license and no insurance. He posted $150 cash bond and was released pending a March 21, 2013 court appearance.
