Hello everyone! I am the Executive Director of Pride of the Fox, the local non-profit that runsRead MoreRive rFest and Firin' up the Fox BBQ Contest & Festival in St Charles. Since there is lots of speculation going on about our sponsor and the event, I would like to clarify some items for everyone. 1. Shodeen Group's logo is actually on our website, please visit it at www.firinupthefox.com 2. NO TAX DOLLARS were spent on making repairs to the property that we are using for the bbq. One of our sponsors donated the gravel and a team of volunteers (including Shodeen Group) spent their own personal time to fill holes at the property to make it safe for the attendees. 3. Shodeen Group is our title sponsor this year. Last year, Charlestowne Mall was the host location, but not the Title Sponsor. Our title sponsor is providing much more than just a location to host the event. We are excited and proud to be working with Shodeen and many of the local businesses that support community events. I will be onsite all weekend and would be happy to talk with anyone regarding our sponsors or how the community can be involved in our events. Please make plans to join us at Firin' up the Fox BBQ Contest & Festival this weekend! Julie Farris Executive Director Pride of the Fox, Inc.

I understand that no tax dollars were used to fix up the lot, but is there any money or supportRead Morebein g provided by the city to assist with this event? If so, I don't remember reading anything about it.

Hi Steve. We are very fortunate to have a city that supports community events and our team worksRead Moreclo sely with all city departments to ensure a safe event. We also work with the city before events so we have a clear understanding on charges that will be incurred. This allows our team to make adjustments based on budget. So, to answer your question, yes, the city supports our event by having the staff and services available to us to ensure a safe event. They provide these services to any group that has an event in St Charles. We do receive an invoice and pay for the city service charges we incur to produce a event. This includes everything from police coverage to barricades. Please let me know if you would like to talk more about our events or even events in general. I will be onsite this weekend and if not too hectic, would be happy to chat more.
