Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles will host an exhibit featuring Raku fired ceramics. Representing more than 25 talented artists, this gallery show features contemporary, one-of-a-kind pieces showcasing the ancient art of Japanese Raku (pronounced rah-koo). This unique glazing and firing process for ceramics results in unexpected and highly unusual colors and textures.
Opening reception is scheduled for April 16, 2011 from 1-4pm. Show runs through May 27. Closed on Sundays.

More About Fine Line Creative Arts Center
Founded in 1979 as a gallery, Fine Line Creative Arts Center was the pet project of Denise Kavanagh who began teaching weaving classes at the center to supplement the sale of art pieces. Today the center supports up to 1,100 students per year and hosts workshops and seminars by internationally known artists. Additionally, Fine Line hosts events including art fairs and an annual open house.
