ST. CHARLES, IL – The St. Charles Campus of Christ Community Church is proud to partner with Heartland Blood Center for a Blood Drive on July 15 & 16. Heartland Blood Center is a non-for-profit, independent blood center serving 49 area hospitals.

All are welcome; all donors will receive a $5 Subway gift card and will be entered into a raffle to win a Kindle HD. Christ Community Church is located at the intersection of Randall and Bolcum at 37w100Bolcum Road, St. Charles, IL 60175.

Approximately 4.5 million Americans will need a blood transfusion each year, according to America’s Blood Centers. In the United States alone, someone needs blood every two seconds.  This year alone, Heartland Blood Centers will need to collect 160,000 blood products to support their member hospitals.

Blood donors receive free mini-medical exams on site including information about their temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure and hemoglobin level. 

To be a blood donor, individuals must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with written parental permission; weigh at least 110 pounds; be symptom free of cold, flu and allergies; and be in general good health. Donors who have traveled outside the United States within the past 12 months should contact Heartland at 1-800-7TO-GIVE to determine eligibility.
