Future Teachers "Read for the Record"

The St. Charles East and North Future Educators Associations both participated in the 2013 Read for the Record on Thursday, October 3.  The North H.S. future teachers read to students at Corron Elementary, while East’s FEA members visited Norton Creek Elementary.

Jumpstart’s Read for the Record is an international campaign to bring children together with valued adults in their lives to read the same book, on the same day, in communities all over the world.  The 2013 book featured was Otis, by Loren Long in support of Jumpstart's mission to work toward the day that every child in America enters school prepared to succeed.  In 2012, 2.3 million people participated in Jumpstart’s Read for the Record.

The North H.S. students also led activities for 23 elementary school students who participate in the South Elgin Park District AfterShock program after school.
