Holiday Homecoming 2013 Seeks Parade Entry Forms

ST. CHARLES, IL (October 10, 2013) The Downtown St. Charles Partnership (DSCP) announces the initial plans for the Holiday Homecoming event November 29 and 30. The event features the Lighting of the Lights, Sleigh Rides, Visits with Santa, a Holiday Movie, and the Electric Christmas Parade. In addition, retuning this year is the Swans’ Christmas Tree Lot on 1st Street across from the Plaza in Downtown St. Charles.

·         Free Holiday Movie at the Arcada Theatre: The Polar Express,- 10:30 AM

·         Free Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides on 1st St. Plaza, 1-3:30 pm

·         Visit with Santa at the 1st Street Plaza, 1 – 4 PM

·         Electric Christmas Parade on Main Street, 5:30 PM

All Holiday Homecoming events and activities are free of charge.

Parade Entry Forms

Businesses, non-profits, and organizations that would like to enter the parade may do so by completing the Parade Entry Form, Rule and Regulations, and providing a Certificate of Insurance. The application fee is $250 for businesses, $125 for Downtown St. Charles Partnership member businesses, and complimentary to local non-profits. Applications are due by Friday, October 25, 2013 and can be downloaded at www.downtownstcharles.org/holidays.

Volunteers Needed

The Downtown St. Charles Partnership is seeking volunteers for the parade day with responsibilities including Parade Pacers, Parade Marshals, and Banner Carriers. Those interested in volunteering for a service opportunity or to help their community, may do so by completing the volunteer form on the website at: www.downtownstcharles.org/holidays.

Volunteer Committee Spotlight

This year’s Parade Committee is chaired by Craig Larsen, Founder & President of AHC Advisors, Inc.  A Professional and Chartered Financial Consultant CFP®, Larsen founded his business in 1995 as a fee-only investment advisor. AHC serves clients in the suburbs of Chicago, and locally in Saint Charles, Geneva, and Batavia. Professionally, Craig serves as the Treasurer for the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of Illinois. Additionally, Larsen is very active in the community and recently joined the Tri City Family Services Board of Directors.

In addition to Larsen, the committee is made up of other community volunteers including: John Hughes of N Henry and Son; Steve Martin of First State Bank; Darlene Riebe, resident; Deb Fee of St. Charles Bank and Trust; Betsy Penny, resident; Michelle Glowinski, Resident; and Jan Wilson of Hair Capers.
