Mosquito Spraying Scheduled for the Evening of June 30

ST. CHARLES, Ill.

(June 26, 2014) – A citywide spray for mosquito abatement will be conducted Monday evening, June 30, weather permitting, by Clarke, the City’s mosquito abatement vendor. The treatment will help control nuisance mosquitoes and reduce the potential of mosquito-borne disease transmission. It is part of a robust program for combating mosquito outbreaks, which includes surveillance and monitoring, larval control and adult control.

“Last week, the Kane County Health Department reported a bird in Campton Township was the first to test positive for the West Nile virus in the County this season,” said Peter Suhr, Director of Public Works. “In addition to the City’s efforts to reduce the mosquito population, there are steps residents can take to help control mosquitos.”
