Ordinary Days - A Vero Voce Main Stage Production

Vero Voce Theater is proud to produce and present Ordinary Days. Dawn Harkins, Owner and Artistic Director of Vero Voce said, “As a Theater and School of Performing Arts a primary aim is to help, encourage and cultivate developing talent to hone their theater and musical skills. One of the methods we use is to make our theater available to performers such as these”. Make no mistake, these are not actors from our Young Performers series, but budding professional actors we are delighted to add to our Main Stage series.

The cast includes Becca Willaert, Kevin Chlapecka, Gabby Marzetta, and Jacob Groth (all alumni of St. Charles east High School) with Charlie Yokom as our pianist Ellen Dillenburg as stage manager. This will be a great opportunity for each of us to develop our skills, and work toward perfecting our craft! With a team of 3 BFA musical theater majors, a singer/songwriting major, a composition major, and a theater management major, this show seemed to be right up our alley. We were all confronted with the same question. Now that the school year had ended, what were we going to do this summer? Each of us had just spent a rather hectic year planning our lives, making serious choices, and above all, practicing and studying art. After spending a year in various cities around the country it was time for us to come home and practice what we've learned.

Our goal is to create a collaborative art project. We want to pool our creative skills and talents in order to make one beautiful show. Knowing full well that this could be the last time we had the opportunity to work together as a group, we wanted this to be special. We decided that we would equal parts perform, produce, and direct the show ourselves. After some discussion, we decided on the Musical Ordinary Days, Music and Lyrics by Adam Gwon, an absolutely wonderful show that pointing out that there is beauty in the little things.
