Sen. McConnaughay hosts senior health fair

SPRINGFIELD- State Senator Karen McConnaughay (R-33, St. Charles) will host a senior health fair from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, July 23 at the Randall Oaks Golf Club located at 4101 Binnie Rd. in West Dundee.
The event is designed to educate seniors in the 33rd District on a variety of health issues, as well as providing information on senior related topics. 
Free health screenings including non-fasting glucose screenings, body fat analysis, blood pressure and a V.A. mobile medical unit will be available. Legislative brochures will also be available explaining state programs available to seniors. Information on assisted living, internet safety, avoiding scams, financial security, hospice, Alzheimer’s, nutrition, hearing loss, I-Cash, and veterans assistance will be available. Participants at the fair include AARP Illinois, ABBVIE, Alzheimers Association, Angel Guardian, Assure Home Assist, Assure Home Health, Better Business Bureau, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Bickford Assisted Living, Care Navigators, CASA of Kane County, Centegra Health Systems, Cherish Place Adult Day Services, Citizens Utility Board, Connect Hearing, CPR, Edward Jones, Elderwerks, Fair Oaks Nursing & Rehab Center, Fox River Valley Public Library District, It Works, In Home Personal Services, Juice Plus, Kane County Clerk, Kane County Health Department, Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, Kane County Veterans Assistance Commission, Manorcare of Elgin, National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Oak Crest Residence, Office of the Illinois Comptroller, Office of the Illinois Secretary of State, Office of the Illinois Treasurer, PACE, Presence Life Connections, Presence St. Joseph Hospital, Rosewood Care Center of Elgin, RTA, Senior Services Associates, Village Green of East Dundee, Visiting Angels, VNA Healthcare, West Dundee Fire Department and the West Dundee Police Department. For more information contact Sen.
