St. Charles City Hall to Showcase Artist Nick Freeman Before His One-Man Show at The Norris Gallery

May 23 – July 5 Exhibit to Include Paintings, Photos, Lectures

St Charles, Ill., Feb. 26 – During two weeks in April and two weeks in May, St. Charles City Hall will provide a sneak preview of “The Wine of Life,” a one-man show featuring oil paintings and photographs by St. Charles artist Nick Freeman. Scheduled for May 23 through July 5 at the Norris Cultural Arts Center gallery, the exhibit will raise funds for future gallery events.

Centerpiece of the exhibit will be a new oil painting entitled Sunrise, St. Charles, depicting downtown St. Charles and featuring the historic Hotel Baker and the Fox River.

“The Wine of Life” derives from a quote by the 19th century German novelist Jean Paul Richter, who noted, “Art is indeed not the bread but the wine of life.”
