The 2013 St. Charles North High School Homecoming Parade with be held on Illinois Street on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 1:00 P.M.. The parade with begin with 6th Street and travel east on Illinois Street to 2nd Avenue. The following street closures will be in effect from 12:45 P.M. until approximately 1:45 P.M:
** Illinois Street will be closed between 7th Street on the west side of the river and 3rd Avenue on the east side of the river.
** 2nd Street (Illinois Route 31) will be closed for a short period of time as the parade crosses 2nd Street and travels eastbound.
A detour route for Route 31 will be posted utilizing W. Main Street (Illinois Route 64), 7th Street and Prairie Street. Trucks using Illinois Route 31 will be detoured to Randall Road. There will be restricted parking on the detour and parade routes, as well as the parade staging area.
Parking will be restricted on S. 2nd and 3rd Avenues.
Parking will be restricted on S. 6th Street between Main Street and Indiana Street.
Parking will also be restricted on Walnut Street between 7th Street and 5th Street. Motorists are urged to use care and to watch for pedestrians. Traffic assistance will be provided by Police and Emergency Management Personnel at key intersections.
Motorists are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes and be mindful of temporary parking restrictions. Traffic delays may be lengthy.SOURCE: St. Charles Police Department
