St. Charles Water Conservation Regulations in Effect Beginning May 1

Restricted Watering Times Effective May 1 through August 31

The City of St. Charles water conservation ordinance is in effect from May 1 to Aug. 31. The ordinance regulates days and times portable sprinklers and in-ground sprinkling systems (not hand held hoses) may be used.

• Even numbered addresses may sprinkle on even-numbered days, from 12 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

• Odd numbered addresses may sprinkle on odd- numbered days, from 12 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

“The Water Conservation ordinance promotes responsible water use and helps accommodate the community’s water needs during peak usage times,” said Peter Suhr, Interim Director of Public Works.

PLEASE NOTE:

Sprinkling is not allowed on any day between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., or 10 p.m. and 12 a.m., from May 1 through August 31. For more information, contact Public Works at 630.377.4405.
