More Bitter Cold Tonight in St. Charles

Dangerously cold wind chills will return tonight, with another wind chill advisory for DuPage and Kane counties, including St. Charles and Wheaton.

The National Weather Service has issued another wind chill advisory beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday for Kane and DuPage counties, anticipating wind chills of 20 to 30 degrees below zero tonight an early overnight before dropping to -15 to -25 degrees early Friday.


The advisory runs through 10 a.m. Friday.


The National Weather Service said temperatures tonight will drop to several degrees below zero with sustained winds of 10 to 15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph overnight.

Dress warmly, including hats and gloves — wind chills this low can cause frostbite and hypothermia within a matter of minute, the agency says. And be sure to bring your pets inside.
