5 Things: Fall Fashion and More for September 14

How about attending fashion show that's for good cause?

You can celebrate today's food holiday with an extra sweet treat this morning. Or, you could make some new friends and learn how to knit.

Here are five things going on for Sept. 14:

1. The  from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at . The doors open at 6:30 p.m. for socializing and refreshments, and the meetings begin at 7 p.m.

The meetings consist of guild business, a planned program and an opportunity to gain inspiration and expertise through a "Show and Share" portion of the evening. This group is open to anyone with an interest in knitting. You are welcome to attend one meeting prior to joining. 

2. Today is the last day to buy tickets for the  hosted by the Friends of , which will take place at 6 p.m. Sept. 22 at . The event also includes a dinner buffet, cash bar and many raffles.

3. The City of St. Charles Tree Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Committee Room at City Hall. The Tree Commission consists of resident volunteers appointed by the Mayor and City Council. 

They discuss the management of City-owned trees, trimming, Tree City USA, public education about trees, diseases and pests. 4. The Fox Valley Bicycle and Ski Club will meet tonight at the . A club social will start the meeting at 7 p.m. with a club-sponsored program at 7:15 p.m., the general meeting starts at 8 p.m.
