5 Things: Rosh Hashanah Services and More for Sept. 28

Did you know that the rabies disease kills more than 150 people worldwide every day?

Here are five things going on today in and around St. Charles:

1.  (the Jewish New Year) in Geneva this year with the . The high holiday service starts at 7:30 p.m. and will be at FONA International, 1900 Averill Rd., Geneva. Tickets are not required.

2. Join the  at 7 p.m., where 10 short films representing every continent will be screened. will vote for their favorite. All films are rated PG and tickets will only be available at the door.

3. Help shape the future of St. Charles by attending a . The community is invited to a neighborhood workshop at 7 p.m. where citizens will guide the future growth and development of St. Charles. Tonight's meeting will take place at the Building Traffic Courtroom, 530 S. Randall Rd.

4. The League of Women Voters of Central Kane County will (TLC) at 6:45 p.m. at  in Batavia. This event gives prospective and current members an opportunity to get acquainted and talk about current events.

5. Interesting Fact: World Rabies Day will be observed internationally today. This holiday is a United Nations observation day and coordinated by the Global Alliance for Rabies Control. The Centers for Disease Control will also host a Rabies seminar today titled International Activities to Improve Prevention and Control of Rabies.
