Cool Tropical Sounds End a Hot Day in St. Charles

The sounds of calypso and skaa flowing like gentle waves onto a tropical beach seemed like the perfect end to a warm, humid day in the Midwest.

That was the music of the Mr. Myers band, which performed Thursday evening, June 27, 2013, in the gazebo at Lincoln Park. The band blends calypso and ska, reggae rhythms and a little rock ‘n’ roll as it performs a variety of tunes, ranging from some classic tunes to the band’s own style of Caribbean rock.

The performances was another in the St. Charles Park District’s free 2013 Concerts in the Park series on Thursday nights at the gazebo in Lincoln Park, along West Main Street between 4th and 5th streets in the downtown area.

Coming up on the schedule of Thursday night concerts are:

July 11 — Back Country Roads — New!
July 18 — Life is Drama — New!
July 25 — How Far to Austin
Aug 1 — 7th Heaven
Aug 8 — According to Sarah — New!
Aug 15 — Howard and the White Boys

Concerts will move to the Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St., in the event of inclement weather.
