“Big Brother & The Holding Company” Joins 2012 St. Charles Summer Theater Fest

Once again, visitors and residents of St. Charles are invited to Applaud, Create, and Get Away as arts and business organizations across the city reunite for the second annual St. Charles Summer Theater Festival. Devised by John Gawlik, Artistic Director for Fox Valley Repertory, the first festival was inaugurated in July, last year. Returning to St. Charles, July 6 – 22, 2012, the upcoming festival will condense the community’s creative charm into weekends of concerts, dramas, new play-readings, and interactive art demonstrations.

As a part of this effort, Big Brother & The Holding Co., the band that introduced the world to the talent of Janis Joplin, will celebrate her music at the Arcada Theatre, during the Summer Theater Fest—Friday, July 20, 2012, 8pm. Tickets are $39 and higher. For more information, visit: www.oshows.com. For further list of shows and events, visit: www.summertheaterfest.org.

The St. Charles Theater Festival will take place July 6 – 22, 2012 throughout the city of St. Charles.  For more information, visit www.summertheaterfest.org or call 800-777-4373.  Festival attendees can book hotel rooms and have access to discounts on theater, entertainment and dining by visiting www.stcharlescharm.com.
