Actor Hugh Jackman Appearing at Arcada June 8 to Tape Show

A limited number of tickets are available for the 8 p.m. show, which is expected to feature mostly music.

Actor Hugh Jackman and musician Richard Marx will participate in the taping of a PBS program at 8 p.m. June 8 at the in downtown St. Charles.

A limited number of tickets are available to attend the taping of the Public Television Rocks! special featuring Marx, who is a Chicago native. Vertical Horizon lead singer and guitarist Matt Scannell also will appear.

Ron Onesti of the Arcada said the show will consist mainly of music.

“It will start out acoustic, then strings will be added, and will finish with the whole band,” Onesti said. He added that the taping will have the “feel of some talented guys just hanging out and jamming.”

Marx had a string of pop hits the 1980s, including “Endless Summer Nights,” “Should’ve Known Better,” “Hold on to the Nights,” and “Right Here Waiting.” He also has written 13 songs that have reached No. 1 on various charts and has collaborated with artists including Luther Vandross, Daughtry, LeAnn Rimes, ’N Sync and Keith Urban. 

Jackman starred in the “X-Men” films, among many others. He is currently traveling the country with his own musical stage show.
