Marsalis Cancellation Won't Deter St. Charles Jazz Weekend

The Downtown St. Charles Partnership plans to forge ahead with live jazz at four downtown venues over the course of the Sept. 20-23 celebration.

The St. Charles Jazz Weekend will proceed undeterred by the cancellation of the Branford Marsalis Concert at the Arcada Theatre, as local officials remain excited about the annual music celebration.

The event kicks off at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20 and runs through the afternoon of Sunday, Sept. 23, according to a release issued Friday, the day after the Marsalis cancellation was made public.

But jazz music will continue at such venues as , , , and . The restaurant venues will have live jazz complementary for in-house guests.
