The Downtown St. Charles Partnership is accepting entries for the 15th annual St. Patrick’s Parade at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014. Local businesses and nonprofits are encouraged to enter the parade, which extends from 6th Street to 4th Avenue.
Parade Day Features
Area dance troupes will again participate in a dance show at the Arcada Theatre beginning at 10am and then walk in the parade following the show. And reprising last year’s success, a Deck Out Your Lucky Dog Contest, sponsored by St. Charles Veterinary Clinic, will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in front of the St. Charles Municipal Center to give dog owners the opportunity to dress up their dogs and walk in the parade.
Organizations and business that wish to participate must complete an entry form, obtain a certificate of insurance, sign off on the rules and regulations, and return the documents along with the appropriate entrance fee, if required, to the Downtown St. Charles Partnership office no later than Friday, Feb. 14. The entry fee is $250 for businesses, $125 for Downtown St. Charles Partnership members, and free for nonprofit organizations. Past entries have included bands, Irish dancers, authentic Irish music, floats, school groups, pre-schools, service clubs, and more.
Sponsors and Volunteers
Businesses looking to have a sponsored element in the parade and receive recognition through marketing and promotions are encouraged to immediately contact the Downtown St. Charles Partnership. Volunteers are also in need to help with parade day execution.
