Tri-Cities Gas Guide: Feb. 28, 2013

Our weekly guide to help you find the lowest prices per gallon in the Tri-Cities of Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles.

The price of gasoline upward trend slowed a bit this week, with the national average price climbing just 2 cents a gallon from a week ago, and 43.7 cents a gallon in the past month.

The Sam’s Club at Randall Road and Fabyan Parkway in Batavia and the Costco on Randall Road near Oak Street in St. Charles had the cheapest gas prices in the Tri-Cities on Wednesday night, according to Illinois Gas Prices.

AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report showed that nationally, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline on late Wednesday was $3.786 a gallon, up from $3.782 a day earlier, also up from $3.766 a week ago. The national average of a gallon of regular gas a month ago was $3.349, but was $3.716 a year ago. The highest recorded average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was $4.114 on July 17, 2008.
