Tri-Cities Gas Guide for May 2, 2013

National average gasoline prices edged up slightly over the past week, but are down 11.2 cents per gallon of regular gasoline from a month ago.

Statewide, the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline late Wednesday was $3.947, lower than the prices seen in the Tri-Cities.

Paid-membership gas stations Costco in St. Charles and both the Sam’s Club and Hubbard Avenue Marathon in Batavia tied for the lowest price per gallon of regular gasoline in the Tri-Cities on Wednesday, according to Illinois Gas Prices.

AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report showed that nationally, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline late Wednesday was $3.522 a gallon, up slightly from $3.508 a day earlier and up from $3.516 a week ago. The national average of a gallon of regular gas a month ago was $3.634, and was $3.809 a year ago. The highest recorded national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was $4.114 on July 17, 2008.
