Tri-Cities Gas Guide: Aug. 8, 2013

Use our weekly guide to find the lowest gasoline prices in the Tri-Cities of Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles.

National average gasoline prices dropped 4.1 centers per gallon over the past week but remain 10.6 cents a gallon more than they were a month ago.


Meantime, Tri-Cities' gas prices generally were lower than the statewide average price of a gallon of regular gasoline, which was $3.747 Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013.


Gas stations in Batavia had a near monopoly on the Tri-Cities’ lowest gas prices, with even Costco* in St. Charles only tying the highest price in Batavia. Illinois Gas Prices listed the lowest price in the Tri-Cities on Thurtsday at $3.55 per gallon of regular.

AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report showed that nationally, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline on Wednesday was $3.589 a gallon, down from $3.600 a day earlier and lower than $3.630 a week ago. The national average of a gallon of regular gas a month ago was $3.483, and was $3.647 a year ago. The highest recorded national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was $4.114 on July 17, 2008.
