Attorney Nancy E. Joerg Speaks at Tax Seminar

Attorney Nancy E. Joerg, Wessels Sherman Joerg Liszka Laverty Seneczko P.C. shareholder, presented "How to Successfully Handle an IDES Audit on Independent Contractors" at the Independent Accountants Association of Illinois 25th Annual Tax Seminar in Palatine, Illinois on Thursday, November 7, 2013. This was an all-day event and almost 100 accountants were in attendance. In addition to Joerg, there were speakers from the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES), the Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL), and the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR).  Joerg’s presentation taught accountants about what their accounting clients can do to cut their growing risk in using independent contractors . Joerg observed that independent contractor status is clearly a heightened area of concern for Illinois accountants.
