St Charles Arts Council will hold performing artist auditions

The St Charles Arts Council, in partnership with the Greater St. Charles Education Foundation and CUSD303, will hold auditions for student performers on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Fox Valley Rep/Pheasant Run Resort from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Utrillo Room in Gallery Hall. All students, kindergarten through college, are invited to participate in the Event audition.

Auditions are for one of three events occurring during the Inaugural All-City, All-Arts Event – Charlie’s Center for the Arts – Student Artist EventALL of the ARTS, ALL over TOWN occurring Friday, February 14 through Sunday, February 16, 2014.  The Event will encompass multiple venues throughout St. Charles and will feature the visual and performing art of Student Artists – kindergarten through college. 

Auditions are for one of three events. All students are invited to audition for any of the three scheduled events, and selected performing artists will receive a stipend for their performance.

1.        Concert and Master Classes with Tammy McCann and her Big Band

Student musicians are invited to audition to appear in a performance with renowned vocalist, Tammy McCann. The Chicago Jazz performer is an internationally known vocalist. She has been heard in concert halls throughout Russia and Europe, and her appearances in clubs and concerts have been standing room only.

2.        Performing Artist Showcase

Performing art students are invited to audition to appear in an “Artist Showcase” featuring a variety of talent with music, dance, magic and more.

3.        GrassRoots Literary Showcase

Literary art students are invited to audition to appear in the “Literary Showcase” that will feature spoken word performances and a poetry slam.
