Recent “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” Campaign Declared a Success in West Chicago

The West Chicago Police Department has declared its participation in Illinois’ annual “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign a major success.  The enforcement period for the drunk driving campaign ran from August 16 through September 2, 2013 and included more than 185 traffic citations.  The citations included:

·       10 “No Valid License” arrests
·       3 drunk driving arrests
·       2 warrant arrests
·       More than 60 seat belt citations

West Chicago Police Sergeant Spencer Kroning said, “Drunk driving is more than a reckless choice by a few individuals.  Each year, drunk driving costs the lives of thousands on America’s highways.  I’m proud of our officers for their hard work and dedication to making our community’s roads safer.”
