West Chicago Police Release Independence Day Citation Statistics

The West Chicago Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement agencies during the recent Independence Day Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over/Click It or Ticket campaign, featuring high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities including a media campaign and additional police activity.

According to Sergeant Spencer Kroning, the West Chicago Police Department issued 35 citations during the crackdown on drunk drivers and seat belt law violators.  Citations issued included: 11 seat belt citations, 2 child seat citations, 4 cell phone citations and 18 other miscellaneous violations.

Extra emphasis was given to the late-night hours when statistics show the highest number of motorists drink and drive and the fewest buckle up.
