Comedian Don Rickles to Perform Aug. 20 at Arcada Theatre in St. Charles

"Mr. Warmth" will present a Las Vegas-style show with a full orchestra.

Comedian Don Rickles will perform a Las Vegas-style show with a full orchestra at 8 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Arcada Theatre in downtown St. Charles.

Rickles, an insult comic sometimes called “Mr. Warmth,” is known for his sharp wit and his performances on The Tonight Show and multiple other television programs.

According to a Rickles’ website, he studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and played occasional bit parts on television before trying stand-up comedy to make up for the lack of available acting work.

While establishing a comedy career, he developed his caustic style in response to hecklers. He fully developed his insult comedy after he realized the audience thought the interaction with hecklers was funnier than his material, the website states.

The opening act for the 18-and-older show will be Tony Ocean. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $59 to $89 and are available at www.oshows.com or call 630-962-7000.
