Gas Prices Take a Slight Dip in St. Charles; Metra Looks for Fare and Service Feedback

Also, some upcoming construction projects could require you to detour from your usual commute.

Motorists might want to be aware of some upcoming roadway construction projects in St. Charles and the surrounding areas. Please allow for extra driving time and consider altering your regularly traveled route.

  • Crack sealing on Fabyan Parkway at Raddant Road and at Western Avenue in Geneva is scheduled to begin on Thursday. Construction crews will be routing and sealing cracks, and the project is scheduled to be completed on Friday.
  • Roadwork resurfacing will continue on Randall Road, from Silver Glen to North McDonald roads in rural South Elgin, through Aug. 25. The project will start with grinding the pavement, placing a layer of fresh oil over the new surfaces, and then laying down new asphalt.

Metra

In anticipation of higher gas prices and service fees, Metra is looking for ways to make ends meet during a 2012 budget shortfall. The transportation agency is asking riders to complete an online 2012 fare and service survey. You can find a link to the survey by clicking here.
