You can celebrate summer with National Watermelon Day and a free concert in the park.

Have you ever read the label on a bottle of body lotion and wondered what all those complicated sounding ingredients do? Well, tonight is your chance to find out. Keep reading to find out more on staying "green" and healthy when choosing products that are right for you.

Also, story time is an important part of helping children grow into strong students. The St. Charles Public Library offers two story times for infants and toddlers.

2. You can join the  for multi-age story time at 9:30 or 10:30 a.m. This program is designed for ages infant through 5 years and requires an adult caregiver to interact with their child during each story. The adult interaction plays an important role by guiding the children through literacy during the development process.

A library card is required and must be shown at the door. Doors open five minutes prior to the start of each story time.

3.  will host a presentation from owner Shari Ralish from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Peaceful Parlour in Geneva. Ralish will discuss how to understand the labels on body and beauty products, and the ingredients to avoid while remaining eco-friendly.

The Fox Valley Sustainability Group is for people concerned about the environment and living green. The group regularly hosts speakers on sustainability, holistic living, bio fuel, ecology, gardening, natural living, slow food and more. To find out more, visit the website by clicking here.

4. National Watermelon Day is a celebration of what some would consider to be the most beloved fruit of the summer. Watermelon is believed to have come from the tropical regions of Africa, and watermelon seeds were found in King Tut's tomb. The fruit was reportedly introduced into the Massachusetts area in the year 1629.

Watermelon is high in vitamin C and the amino acid citrulline. The rinds, while unappealing to most people, have many nutrients and are often used as a vegetable in China.

5. Batavia's at 7 p.m. on Houston Street and North Island Avenue. Blue Voodoo has sounds of classic rock with a southern roadhouse influence.

You can bring a blanket, chairs, and a picnic to the park for family entertainment.
