Republican: Scotland Yard in St. Charles Gives up Liquor License in Wake of Suspension
St. Charles Liquor Commissioner and Mayor Don DeWitte report that a 30-day liquor license suspension had been discussed.
Scotland Yard, a downtown St. Charles bar under fire for allegedly overserving a patron to the point of acute alcohol poisoning, has surrendered its liquor license and has shut down, according to a report in the St. Charles Republican. The bar, at 301 W. Main St., recently received its third liquor violation citation from the St. Charles Police Department and had its liquor license suspended for a week following the alcohol poisoning incident on March 26, which involved a woman who was unresponsive and was transported to the hospital after being served at the bar. Owners will try to sell the bar, the Republican reported.
