St. Charles Arts Council Plans Volunteer Meeting This Week
The council is inviting community members to donate their time and talents to the non-profit organization.
The St. Charles Arts Council is inviting community members to a volunteer meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 31 in the council meeting room at the St. Charles Municipal Center, 2 E. Main St. in downtown St. Charles.
Volunteers are needed for the non-profit, all volunteer organization, which recently was founded to help establish St. Charles as a center for the arts with goals of cultural and economic enhancement.
The St. Charles Arts Council is planning a variety of events and special projects and volunteers can help on an on-call basis, or one or two hours per week or dedicate as much time as they want to the group’s efforts.
Volunteers are needed now to help the St. Charles Arts Council get rolling on plans for a city-wide, all-arts festival to take place during 2012.
Following are some of the positions for which volunteers are being sought: Artist and arts business finder; pop-up gallery organizer/worker; entertainment coordinator; freelance videographer; administrative assistant; office worker; event committee chair, member, or event day helper; art curator and grant writer, among others.
Potential volunteers are asked to attend the meeting to discuss their talents and interests to investigate how they can help the group.
