Downtown Delay Eases; Gas Prices Fall Sharply

Stearns Road is closed at Powis this week.

Eastbound Main Street near Second Street in downtown is fully open again after city officials announced Tuesday about possible delays due to caution because of a building that suffered a . A work crew continues to shore up the building.

  • Stearns Road reportedly is closed near Powis Road this week for work on the Canadian National Railway. Work is expected to continue through Friday.
  • Utility work will continue this week on Indiana Street. Motorists should expect minor traffic delays and parking restrictions.

Red Gate Bridge Project

During the last few weeks work has begun on the Red Gate Bridge site. Ongoing tree removal and clearing is expected to continue. Crews will begin working on pavement removal, striping and stockpiling top soil, and the instillation of silt and temporary fences. Click here for more information on the Red Gate Bridge.

Gas Prices 

Considering the insatiability of financial markets this week, it's good news to see gas prices fall to $3.79, a difference of 12 cents since last week. Gas prices are provided by GasBuddy.com as of 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
