'West Suburban Living' Calls St. Charles 14th Best Town in Western Suburbs
In its latest edition, West Suburban Living released its rankings of 63 towns based on a number of factors, including schools, crime, and real estate markets.
St Charles ranks as the 14th-best west-suburban town to live in, according to a comparison study in the May/June 2012 edition of West Suburban Living.
The study was based population/diversity, home values, education, library usage, public safety, location, parks and recreation, and several other subjective criteria.
According to WSL's study, St. Charles is the No. 14 place to live. It has average home values of $346,711. The town's two high schools, St. Charles East has an average ACT score of 23 and St. Charles North has an average score of 23.8 with a high-school graduation rate of 89.8 percent and 93.8 percent respectively.

According to the study St. Charles has a violent crime rate so low it does not register.
