Annual Pearl Harbor Day Dinner

On Saturday, December 7th the combined Veterans
organizations of St Charles;  American
Legion Post 342, American Veterans Post 503 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post
5036 will host the Pearl Harbor Day Dinner to commemorate the events
surrounding the bombing of Pearl Harbor on  December 7, 1941. Our honorable keynote guest
speaker will be esteemed Retired Canadian Army Officer, Major General Walter M.
Holmes from Kingston, Ontario, Canada. His 37 year career spans numerous commands
and service, includes directing NATO multi-national forces, serving as Canadian
Embassy Military Attaché in Washington, D.C., teaching at the Canadian Army Staff
College, Colonel of the Royal Canadian Regiment, an honorary position including
three visits to the Kandahar region of Afghanistan. Holmes continues to serve
in a second honorary position, Colonel Commandant of the Royal Canadian
Infantry Corps.



 Called by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, “a
date which will live in infamy”, the United States of America was suddenly and
deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan on December 7th, 1941.
