Auction at St. Charles Bar Aids Sycamore Man’s Cancer Fight

Cancer victim's longtime friend organized fundraiser, which also benefited Lazarus House in St. Charles.

A downtown St. Charles bar on Sunday was home to an auction that served as a fundraiser for a Sycamore man’s fight against cancer and to help provide nonperishable items for Lazarus House, 214 Walnut St.

Jeff Bagnasco, 38, was diagnosed in Match with Stage 3 colon cancer, according to the Kane County Chronicle. Auctioneer Kyle Reed, a longtime friend, wanted to host the fundraiser to help cover medical bills. Bagnasco agreed, but wanted the effort to benefit Lazarus House, as well.

The Beehive Pub, 204 W. Main St., on Sunday afternoon was home to the auction, which saw dozens of items sold off, with proceeds going toward paying down Bagnasco’s medical bills. In addition, the Chronicle reports, donors can send monetary donations to help the cause to Reed's General Merchandise, 43W987 Empire Road, St. Charles, IL 60175. Checks should be made out to Grace Lutheran Church of Lily Lake with "Jeff Bagnasco" on the memo line.
