Pride of the Fox Donates $500 to Living Well

As if the memories of all the fun this summer weren’t enough, St. Charles’ annual RiverFest and Firin’ Up the Fox BBQ Cook-off are continuing to spread cheer — now with a donation to the LivingWell Cancer Resource Center.

Pride of the Fox LLC Executive Director Julie Farris on Monday presented an oversized, $500 check to John Rabchuk, representing the center, on behalf of the Firin’ Up the Fox event.

The presentation was made as Farris recapped the 2013 RiverFest for the St. Charles City Council on Monday.

Pride of the Fox LLC and a host of volunteers organize the RiverFest each year. The barbecue cook-off was birthed as a part of the 2012 RiverFest. But interest was so high, Pride of the Fox LLC this year decided to make it a stand-alone event whose proceeds would be used to help others. This year, LivingWell Cancer Resource Center was chosen to receive that boost.
