St. Charles Drill Teams Kick Off Kick-A-Thon to Fight Cancer

St. Charles North and East High School effort generates $40,020.12 for cancer fight.



St. Charles North in St. Charles East drill teams on Friday night gathered to show support the Tri-Coties Relay for Relay for Life.

The drill teams held their 20th annual kickoff event for the Kick-A-Thon at St. Charles East High School on Friday afternoon.

They then headed to Fifth/Third Stadium in Geneva, where they joined hundreds of people who turned out for the annual American Cancer Society fundraiser that also generates awareness about cancer, honors survivors and those still fighting the illness, and remembers those who died of cancer.

The drill teams presented a check for more than $40,000 to the Tri-Cities Relay for Life. All told, the drill teams have raised more than $678,029.05 for the fight against cancer in the past 19 years.
