Warblog Sheds Light on Veterans, Active Military and Conflicts

Today is Veterans Day and a good way to recognize the men and women who serve in our military is to hear their stories.

Veterans Day can often be viewed just as a day off from school or work, but it’s meaning can be found on Blackfive.net blog, a MiBlog founded by Matt Burden. He started the blog after a friend died protecting a journalist but the death was never reported in the media, according to the site.

Blackfive.net features posts by service men and women along with veterans, videos, updates on current conflicts and photos. There are also links to other blogs and websites for veterans.

One of the striking photos is of U.S. Army Spc. Joy Odom reciting the oath to re-enlist from the back of a UH-60L Black Hawk helicopter during a mission over Laghman province, Afghanistan, earlier this month, according to the blog.
