Top Picks for Families This Weekend: Easter Fun 2014

Find me on www.mommybytheriver.com and Facebook!

Happy Weekend! Can you believe that Easter is almost here? It seems like we were just whining (or trying not to) about the snow-snow-snow, and now here we are looking for candy for Easter baskets and starting to open resurrection eggs (ask me if you want to know what these special eggs are).

One thing is for sure. I am definitely not paying $15 for my child to eat with a scary looking Easter bunny. Why not? Well, honestly there are way too many great places to take him in our area that are either FREE or CHEAP. And since I feel an obligation to you, I thought it was time to share the information. So… welcome to my very first edition of my Top Picks – Easter Edition!

Please note that this list is not limited to just this weekend, nor will it include every community’s event. Basically, since I am “The Mommy,” I get to pick. However, if you know of any others not listed here that fit the FREE & CHEAP category ($5 per person or less), you can always feel free to email them to me at editor@mommybytheriver.com. You know I always love to hear from you! Also–a little reminder: If you are attending an egg hunt, be sure to bring a basket or bag to collect your eggs!

In my first-ever Top Picks – Easter Edition, you will find Easter-themed events to bring your kids in the following towns: Algonquin, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Elgin, Elk Grove Village, Geneva, Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg, Streamwood, West Chicago and Wheaton. Best of all, they are all FREE or CHEAP!  And if they ask who sent you…tell them The Mommy did!

DISCLAIMER:  Information on these events and activities is obtained through press releases, word of mouth, newspapers, publications and reader submissions. Although we are careful to report accurate dates and times as they are given to us, we realize that sometimes we receive inaccurate information or events may be cancelled. We strongly encourage you to confirm the information before heading out and/or to click the link that is provided for each activity to check the details.
