The Affordable Health Care Act (ACA-Obamacare) is good for the economy.

When my daughter was in college and was about to turn 22, our health insurance company sent us a letter stating that she will no longer be on our policy. They offered another policy for her that would cost $1500 a month because she had a pre-existing condition.

So I decided to do something about it. I helped push for health insurance reform because people should not be getting rich on the demise of others. Under ACA/Obamacare, our daughter can remain on our policy until the age of 26 and she will not be denied insurance because of a pre-existing condition.

When someone is down and out, you should give them a hand-up you don't push them down further.  Our society today has gotten so selfish that we have forgotten that when many of us do well, it benefits us all.

Why wouldn't you want 30 million people to get health insurance?  Think of the possibilities, if you are a small business, you would get more customers because healthy people work due to access to health insurance.  Small businesses can now compete for talent because workers have better access to healthcare.

When people work, they spend money. They stimulate the economy through their purchases.  That is called demand (economics 101) which determines the economy. For example, when I get paid, I go to the movies, I go to the hairdresser, I go to the doctor, I visit the grocery store, I go on vacation, etc. The dollars that I spend at those places will create more money. Obamacare help boost the economy and that is a good thing for all of us.

You can feel a little safer in the public areas because the person you're riding in the elevator with is no longer suffering from Strep Throat which is a communicable illness. He now has health insurance.

To find out  the benefits of the Affordable Healthcare Act (ACA-Obamacare), come to "The ABCs of the ACA"  on Thursday, September 26 at the Arcada Theater in St. Charles.  The affordable Healthcare Act (Obamacare) is  the law of the land.  For the uninsured, enrollment begins on October 1, 2013 through December.
