Former St. Charles Schools Administrator Knapik Dies at 64

Ronald Knapik was a retired assistant superintendent of District 303.

A retired educator who had spent his entire career with St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 until he retired as assistant superintendent died Friday, March 8. Ronald Knapik was 64, according to an obituary posted by Moss Family Funeral Home.

Knapik died at his Batavia residence, surrounded by his family, according to the obituary.

In October 2012, his work for School District 303 was memorialized when the district dedicated the library at St. Charles North High School in his honor, naming it the Ronald Knapik Library.

The obituary lists his survivors as his wife, Carolyn Ankenbauer Knapik, whom he married in Chicago on Oct. 4, 1980; his daughters, Carrie and Kimberly Knapik, both of Batavia; a sister, Melanie (Michael) Vogt; and several other  family members and friends.

Visitation was held Tuesday. A funeral service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave. (Route 31), Batavia, according to the obituary.
