St. Charles Mourns Ron Samuel, 'Boomer' Bollaert and Many Others

  • Loretta C. “Peachy” Gillen (nee Gawne), 77, of St. Charles was a registered nurse and clinical social worker, loving wife and best friend of Bill for 55 years, loving mother of four and proud grandmother of 16.
  • Barbara A. Bosler, 67, of St. Charles was member of the St. Charles Moose. She had been employed by Walmart in St. Charles for many years and was previously employed by Lundeens Deli.
  • Ronald G. Samuel, 82, moved to St. Charles in 1957 and owned Ron’s Pet and Saddle in downtown Geneva for 23 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force and for 40-plus years in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rover Rescue, PO Box 4074, Aurora, IL 60507, an all-volunteer group dedicated to finding homes for homeless dogs. Ron fostered more than 40 dogs for this organization and found them good homes.

  • Mark Anthony Pinter, 26, of Batavia, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 at his home. He was born Jan. 8, 1987, in Chicago, the son of Mark E. and Carol (nee Komperda) Pinter. He is survived by his parents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
  • John E. “Boomer” Bollaert, 59, graduated from St. Charles High School with the class of 1972 and was a co-captain of his high school football team which won the first Upstate 8 conference championship. He continued his love of football by playing full contact touch football leagues from 1975 to 1984, competing against Aurora and other area cities. He was employed by Euclid Beverage as a Salesman and Driver from 1976 until 1993. John enjoyed traveling and went to Europe and North Africa, the west coast of Mexico, and the Yucatan Peninsula and Mayan Ruins. John’s joyful laughter, his jokes and his warm and caring spirit will be missed by many.
