Geneva Patch Editor Rick Nagel recently shared some thoughts on his families experiences with the young-adult book on which the movie is based:

At our house, Tricia wants to see the midnight show badly. But there's school Friday, and we're heading out for a spring break vacation on Saturday, so we're resisting letting her go to the midnight show. So far, we're holding our ground.

As I've mentioned before, we listened to the book on CD a year ago on spring break when we drove to Disney World. It's an excellent book—fast-paced, even gripping toward the end—and it made time fly during the drive south.

It's also a reading experience we shared as a family, so that makes it special, and puts a little harder tug on all of us to see the movie ASAP.

The clips you see in the trailers are very much as I pictured the scenes in the book.

Don't miss out. St. Charles Patch also is on Facebook!

How about you? Are you planning to see the midnight show? Are you prepared to participate in a community movie outing?

I haven't read the books but someone who is a fan explained the premise and some of the plot to me. It sounds like a sophisticated tale for young adult fiction and, apparently, and is super popular.

I've heard the same thing. It's a trilogy so I assume there will be sequels.

@Lois Lane—If the first movie is successful, there almost certainly will be sequels. And maybe prequels. Then they'll come up with a reboot ...

You're probably right there, Nick. I heard on the radio this afternoon that parts of the movie may be pretty violent for the younger crowd. I need to read more about the whole premise behind the story before deciding if I'll go and see it. Are we looking at the new Harry Potter series???
