14-Year-Old Boy Charged in St. Charles School Break-in

Police alleged the boy stole electronic equipment.

A 14-year-old boy is accused of stealing electronic devices from Richmond Elementary School during the weekend.

The unidentified youth, who resides on the west side of St. Charles, is charged with burglary, felony theft and criminal damage to property, according to .

Police allege the boy, who was arrested at a West Chicago house the same night as the break-in, forced his way into the school through a window on the afternoon of Dec. 3. Officers reportedly found most of the stolen electronics in the garage of the boy’s family.

The youth appeared in a detention hearing earlier today and remains in the Kane County youth jail pending his next Juvenile Court appearance.
