Baby's Death Being Investigated in Barrington

Police are investigating the death of a 7-month-old in Barrington.

Barrington Police are working with the Cook County Major Case Assistance Team on an investigation into the death of 7-month-old Mya Edwards, reported CBS 2 Chicago.

According to the medical examiner's office, Edwards, of the 10 block of South Hager Ave., was pronounced on scene at 12:19 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, reported CBS 2 Chicago.

The baby girl was found "unconscious and unresponsive," but there has been no information as to whether foul play was involved, reported CLTV, whose website has video from a live broadcast near the scene Wednesday evening.

In a press release, the Barrington Police Department said police and fire departments responded to a call of a deceased individual shortly after 12 p.m. Wednesday.

"We are not releasing any further details at this time. We will release more information as we move along in the investigation," stated police.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning, according to the Daily Herald.

Barrington Police are investigating the death of a 7-month-old girl, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The newspaper reported that the Cook County medical examiner's office identified the girl as Mya Edwards from the 100 block of South Hager in Barrington. The Tribune reported that the girl was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:19 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8.

The Daily Herald Reported that Barrington police and the Cook County Major Case Assistance Team were investigating.
