Blotter: 3 Arrested for Theft of Clothing & Purses in St. Charles

The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Retail thefts at upscale clothing store

Erik R. Slaughter, 24, of 12007 Snow Goose Rd., Austin, TX, and Molly Leigh Barrett, 20, of 1102 S. 11th Ave., St. Charles, were arrested for retail theft on Jan. 19, according to a report. The pair are accused of taking nearly $400 in clothing from two departments in Von Maur, 3810 E. Main St.

Deirdre King Coia, 47, of 376 Edgewater Ct., Sugar Grove, was arrested on Jan. 19 for retail theft, according to a police report. Coia is accused of taking more $1130 worth of Coach purses from Von Maur, 3810 E. Main St. She allegedly admitted to taking the purses on several occasions during her arrest.

Another arrest of a Wal-Mart employee

Joyce M. Moses-Morris, 50, of 3535 W. 72nd St., Chicago, was arrested on Jan. 18 for retail theft, according to a police report. Moses-Morris, an employee at Wal-Mart, 150 Smith Rd., is accused of working with another employee to “under ring” items while at the checkout counter. In 9 instances, Moses-Morris allegedly let about $45 worth of items go through checkout without being rung. Another employee allegedly allowed about $285 in assorted items go by in about 28 separate occasions. Moses-Morris was booked for retail theft and released.

Battery arrest at downtown bar

Mark Richard Chroust, 25, of 1120 Sunset Rd., Geneva, was arrested on Jan. 21 for battery, according to a police report. Chroust was allegedly asked to leave Pub 222, 222 W. Main St., but refused and started a fight with the bouncer. Police were called and Chroust was arrested. He was then booked and taken to Kane County jail.
